Throughout the design process of the plane the main focus was aimed on the ergonomics. It was necessary to come up with a shape which would be efficient for the forward movement as well as the pressure down.

The rear gripping part was scaled up for a better support of the hand and more effective use of its power. The front handle was left out. Due to its asymmetrical shape this handle was intended mostly for right-handers and during the work it pressed soft parts of the hand between the thumb and the index finger. This handle was replaced by an arched “nose”, which supports the palm. There is a characteristic hole in the front part which can be used for hanging up the tool.

The body of the plane is made out of tough hornbeam wood; the sole is made of acacia.
